Medical imaging is studying images of the human body to help diagnose and look at diseases. One of the most familiar form of medical imaging is an x-ray. A diagnostic x-ray can detect and diagnose disease. An x-ray procedure called a fluoroscopy is a technique that gives a moving image over time and is used for evaluating organ movement. An example of a common fluroscopy is a gastrointestinal series and a barium enema. Other imaging tests and procedures include a magnetic resonance image, nuclear medicine imaging, single-photon emission computed tomography, and a positron emission tomography.
